Final Post Once Again :)

Hi everyone:)  As this course has come to an end, it is time to say our goodbye for now. While taking this course, we completed various assignments. The strengths of this course were adding additional technological skillset to already existing ones and being able to explore different tools with my lovely partner Yaren Güleç. Discovering each tool with her was a entertaining journey because we were side by side while doing the assignments and being together has made the process easier for us. The weakness was the number of assignments since each one took so much time and I found it difficult to adapt into my schedule sometimes.  My favourite task was creating a video to do flipped classroom while my least favorite one was definitely the corpus one because I found it meaningless and outdated even though it is a technological tool. My suggestion for this course would be decreasing the number of the tasks so they can be done more thoroughly.   For the students who ...

Integrating AI into a Vocabulary Activity

Hi everyone:)  Our task was to create a AI integrated material. My partner Yaren Güleç and I decided to do this task based on the 17th unit of the coursebook which is "Foods" and a vocabulary activity appealed to us more than the other options. Once again we found a template on Canva and created our worksheet which asks students to create a meal and a dessert recipe with the help of ChatGPT. This process was enjoyable for us and this material would be beneficial for the students as it requires them to know how to use ChatGPT efficiently.  Here is our work !

Using AR/VR to Create a Material

Hi everyone :) Our assignment was to design a teaching material using AR/VR. My partner Yaren Güleç  and I decided to do the "exploring a city" option and we chose our city as Beijing. The selection process was a bit difficult since the cities we wanted to do did not have any famous landmarks that has a proper 360 video.  After deciding the place, we found the necessary videos. Then we found an amazing template on Canva which was originally a lunar new year food menu! We altered the template into our own liking and started to watch the videos and picked the questions. Using AR/VR in English teaching is quite fun and innovative for the students. Choosing the right content is a little tricky but a skillful teacher would not have any problems :)Overall, we had fun and despite the difficulties we would use it again. Here is our work.
